Lot's Wife[edit]

The "Lot's Wife" formation included with this article is a completely different pillar than the one shown in the photograph linked at the bottom of the page. 76.99.236.206 (talk) 07:49, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actual Location[edit]

I believe there is some confusion here - if you look at any actual coordinates to Jordan and Israel, you can see that Mount Sodom is on the right side of the Dead Sea, which would place it in Jordan. Unless anyway can prove that I'm somehow reading this wrong (and somehow I went into Israel without knowing it to hike up Mount Sodom, for that matter) I am changing all references of the location of this mountain from Israel to Jordan. For example, put the provided coordinates (31° 25′ 54″ N, 35° 33′ 46″ E) in this wikipedia article in Google Earth and see what comes back: the result is in Jordan as well. Having been to Mount Sodom, and even having tasted it, I can assure you it is firmly in Israel (south of Masada). I have seen the sign directing road traffic to Lot's Wive, but haven't gone there yet. I'm changing the location back to Israel. You will notice that my IP address is in Israel. 62.219.150.245 (talk) 13:10, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

potential deception?[edit]

There is something fishy about this artical...

I went there last weekend and I have no Israeli visa. I just got there with a Jordanian tour from Amman. Although you can see Israel/ West bank far in the horizon, the site is 100% in Jordan. I will change the location to Jordan.--Kaio™ (talk) 17:02, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Two of them? Maybe you could provide coordinates for the one in Jordan. 72.40.45.79 (talk) 22:40, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge suggestion[edit]

While the rock formation is notable, I believe that the article about it is redundant to both Lot's wife and Mount Sodom. The rock formation is notable solely for its role in the Biblical story, which is and should be covered in the article "Lot's wife". On the other hand, the geographical features of the rock are part of Mount Sodom which can be covered here. —Ynhockey (Talk) 22:55, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
