• No. Prism is basically Firefox without navigational elements (by default) and with per-site profiles. It doesn't use any proprietary features like the .hta extension or COM. - Sikon (talk) 11:02, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

I don't really see there is a strong enough relation between Prism and Gears/Silverlight to warrant links to those articles, so I've removed them. They might be good examples for what kind of stuff can enhance the "desktop integration feel" of Prism, but they're not the exclusive examples of such software. DKBG (talk) 02:28, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

3.0.1 Firefox

Gecko?

The software is based on XULRunner, so it is possible to get some Mozilla Firefox extensions to work in it. ... i think it being based on XULRunner doesn't warrant it being able to use MFF extensions, but using the Gecko_(layout_engine) does, but i'm not sure.91.42.69.135 (talk) 10:47, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

• No, there are plenty of other things (Camino, Thunderbird, Nvu, etc) that use Gecko, but are incapable of using Firefox-specific extensions, or any extensions, in some cases (Camino). Actually, being based on XULRunner doesn't guarantee use of FF extensions, either. For example, TomTom Home is based on XULRunner, and it can run ITS OWN extensions, in the same format, but not specifically FF ones. Prism can run FF extensions because it's essentially an instance of FF but with a separate profile. Darkxsun (talk) 02:40, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
