Improvements[edit]

Ok, I think it's important to keep the explanation of the nature of his powers in his powers section, and only discuss their psycological effects on him in his history section. I'm also surprised no information on his youth has yet been given, since it was heavily detailed in GLA#1. I'll try to get on that when I get home tonight. I think some better pictures might do as well. The cover to GLA #1 is amusing, but it doesn't give you a clear picture of him. Elijya 19:41, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I was meaning to do stuff about his youth myself, but I couldn't really be bothered to bust out those GLA issues again. I just threw up an image there to get a feel for him. Remember that I just made this for a raw mold, but thought he at least started deserving some recognition, and it's why I contacted you. Kusonaga 20:32, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Galactus[edit]

Since Mr Immortal is destined to be the last survivor of the universe, does that mean he'll be the successor to Galactus (who was the last survivor of the previous universe)?

That's exactly what I came here to write! The costume is somewhat similar too. ~ZytheTalk to me! 17:27, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Man, I posted this theory on 4chan months ago.

Powers[edit]

How exactly do his powers work? For example, when he was "blown up" with dynamite, did all the pieces come flying back together after a few seconds, or was he simply unscathed after attempting to blow himself up? Or did a new version just "pop" into existence ? Likewise, when he was decapitated, did he grow a new head, or did someone place his head back onto his body so that the wound simply healed? Thanks. - SigmaEpsilonΣΕ 02:24, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In GLA#1 when he throws himself out of the building a crowd forms around his body. In the next panel, he stands up with this head nearly upside down. It appears it's the same body.
I haven't seen much in the explanation. The 'mechanism' may be similar to how Wile E Coyote keeps coming back--he seems to just recover off-screen. Then again, when he was wearing Dinah's costume and impaled on the scissors, he was still up and about and slurring drunkenly at Squirrel Girl as she came in. That ... is also something Wile E would do. Perhaps it is the same mechanism he uses? IL-Kuma 04:26, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VERY good questions. Someone HAS TO answer this.

Old age[edit]

Can he die from old age? What if he hits 100, 110 or even 150, will he resurrect and instantaneously die again? Or does he also not age at all? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.10.20.7 (talk) 10:59, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See "Galactus" up the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.255.203.101 (talk) 23:06, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unspecified. Though in the Deadpool/GLI Summer Fun Spectacular, in the alternate-timeline 2099 that Squirrel Girl went to, he showed up, having waited that whole time to talk to her, and he hadn't aged a day--to the point where SG thought, at first, that he'd time-travelled to see her instead. Fair use rationale for Image:MisterImmortal.jpg[edit]

Image:MisterImmortal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Magnolia soundtrack???[edit]

"In his grief, Mr. Immortal starting spending a lot of time downloading the Magnolia soundtrack."

... What? This looks like minor vandalism, but I'm not familiar with Mr. Immortal, so for all I know he did go download the Magnolia soundtrack (highly doubtful, but I'm sure anyone else watching this page can make a more informed call). --Godfoster (talk) 09:19, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: Okay, I've tracked down the point where the line in question was added to the article. However, it was added along with most of the rest of what appears to have been the base of the article for the past 2.5 years. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mr._Immortal&diff=prev&oldid=32983462 --Godfoster (talk) 09:37, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
More accurately, in his grief, he started spending all his time downloading 57 different covers of the Harry Nilsson song "One," including the Aimee Mann cover used on the Magnolia soundtrack. Flatman's comment: "Ooh, not a good sign." After all, as Monkey Joe said, "Friends don't let friends play the Magnolia soundtrack." Rdfox 76 (talk) 20:41, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
