Removed unsourced etymology and added a valid one.[edit]

I have removed the etymology given here as it was unsourced and unlikely. I have added one that is sourced and sound. Sigurd Dragon Slayer (talk) 18:02, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Distance from Little Wenlock[edit]

A more precise numerical distance is perhaps more helpful than calling Little Wenlock "nearby" - it is not in a bordering parish and is across the River Severn, beyond Broseley, Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale. Should distance be shortest road route or proverbial 'crow's flight'?Cloptonson (talk) 05:45, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Books[edit]

Much Wenlock also features importantly in the last half of Denis Pepper’s historical novel Botolph the Travelling Saint (ISBN 978-0-9567508-2-2). This is the last novel in The Botolph Trilogy which is set in the seventh century and is a dramatised overview of the true life of this important saint who, with his own monastery of Icanho, oversaw the foundation of Wenlock Abbey.

In my view this is not sufficiently noteworthy: there is no Wikipedia article on Denis Pepper and it is not published by a major publisher. I will revert this addition to the article, which appears to be advertising. Verbcatcher (talk) 03:46, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
