Mayor & Council[edit]
Is the mayor a member of council? I'm not sure that is made clear in this article. What I'm getting is that the mayor is essentially a special council member; a sort of city council member elected on an at-large basis with expanded powers. Something more than a ceremonial figure-head, but not quite seperate of the legislative bodies like in so many American cities where the mayor does not sit on the city council, but functions as the city's chief administrative and executive office. --Criticalthinker (talk) 12:33, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
