Separate page for the Local Government Area[edit]

As per discussion at Talk:List of Sydney suburbs, I have created a separate page for the Municipality of Ashfield, the Local Government Area. -- Ianblair23 05:33, 30 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

First suburb to propose 30 km/h speed limit...[edit]

The Inner West Weekly of 8 June 2006 reports that "Ashfield Council Deputy Mayor Nick Adams" moved (at Tuesday night's council meeting) that Ashfield be "the first residential council in Australia to lower its residential speed limit to 30km/h". The proposal would need the backing of the RTA, and would not include the following roads/streets (due to their high volume): Parramatta, Liverpool, Frederick, Elizabeth. -- Juliannechat 9 June 2006

Nick Adams[edit]

I hid (rather than removed) the controversies section for the following reasons:

  • As it was written, the section read like a list of criticisms of one councillor. "Cr Nick Adams this... Cr Nick Adams that... Deputy Mayor Nick Adams something else..." For that reason, I slightly rewrote the section to de-emphasise the list aspect.
  • Being an article about a place, a list of controversies about a particular person is out of place. It wouldn't be an issue if the section referred to controversies concerning multiple people or, especially, the entire council considered together.

I think that, if the person is notable (and a local politician probably is), then the controversies as currently listed should be at Nick Adams (Councillor) rather than Municipality of Ashfield.

I've raised this at WP:BLPN. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 18:50, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A ridiculous WP:COATRACK section about an individual not remotely notable by Wikipedia standards - and as such a clear violation of WP:BLP policy. If it is added again, delete it, and if the deletion is contested, raise it again at WP:BLPN. Wikipedia isn't here to act as a forum for such unencyclopaedic trivia. • Adams has now become notable in the States, so I've created Nick Adams (commentator). Happy to have people more knowledgeable about his background pitching in (subject to all BLP rules of course, because the guy made some colorful choices in life)--Milowenthasspoken 13:45, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
