Google Scholar has given me about 3 papers as citations, none of which date after 1995. Furthermore, there's another MC Puri who is a biological chemist, so if this article stays, it needs to be disambiguated. So, basically, this falls under the category of obituary and really should be speedied. MSJapan 15:44, 31 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

His biography is much more fleshed out now. I think it was a good idea to keep this article. I'm leery of the apocryphal story near the bottom though. Do we have a reference that he indeed spoke these words or performed this action? -- KarlHallowell 01:16, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
