Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Muslim Lives Matter be merged into 2015 Chapel Hill Shooting. I think that the content in the "Muslim Lives Matter" article can easily be explained in the context of "2015 Chapel Hill Shooting". Unlike its African American counterpart, this hashtag has only received wide attention on one event so far. '''tAD''' (talk) 16:07, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. The content of the Muslim Lives Matter article is almost completely in the context of the 2015 Chapel Hill Shooting. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:17, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: I created this redirect but did not expand the article. I don't have an opinion yet re: whether or not "Muslim Lives Matter" should be a separate article, but I did want to share a few links so people can decide if the phrase is notable or not:

  • Oppose. The movement began in October 2014. Several intermediate incidents have sparked usage of this term, therefore it would be incorrect usage. I dont even roll (talk) 16:54, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • @I dont even roll: You added a category re: "organization" status. If you don't mind, would you add a reliable source to the article making it evident that an organization goes by this name? ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:02, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Update: The category was changed to "Movements established in 2014". ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:12, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Recentism and no evidence of lasting notability. It's a hashtag, not a "movement". Geogene (talk) 17:43, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    • Black Lives Matter has an organization behind it and has been reported on in several events. This has neither '''tAD''' (talk) 06:58, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per above Support arguments. Libertarian12111971 (talk) 02:22, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support there were only two uses of the phrase in Google News in 2014, both minor op-ed pieces. -- Aronzak (talk) 06:31, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
