Notability[edit]

Well, no idea what a secondary source for this would be, except to say it's included with a majority of opensource operating systems as an add-on package, making it as notable in it's own right as GCC.

Further, as a practicing electrical engineer, I can say it's relevant to my profession. I'll try just deleting the notability warning to see if it's put there by a bot... Stevefranks (talk) 06:45, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely notable, especially for anyone involved in Python or digital design. This is a perfect example of how Python can be extended to do something that normally requires a special-purpose language like Verilog. MyHDL gives you the high-level programming power of Python with the concurrency needed for simulating digital systems. It is also an excellent teaching tool. Students can see how concurrency is provided in a programming language, rather than just think of HDL as a "black box". I am recommending it for our digital design classes at the University of Arizona. --Dave (talk) 12:58, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
