Why listed?[edit]

Why are the Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and others listed under "Teams moving between cities/boroughs within their metropolitan area"? They simply changed stadiums within the city limits. In the Eagles' case, for example, Shibe Park (North Philadelphia), Franklin Field (West Philadelphia) and Veterans Stadium (South Philadelphia) are in different neighborhoods, but all in the City of Philadelphia. [I pose the question because I do not like making such changes without at least some discussion. If I hear no comment within a short time, I will be bold and make the changes.]]    → Michael J    18:15, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Houston not mentioned for losing the Oilers to Tennessee before getting the new Houston Texans? I seem to remember the Oilers having a strong fan following in Houston. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.18.92.36 (talk) 18:11, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Useless and misleading section[edit]

"The case of the Indianapolis Colts" is totally wrong according to its own reference:

  • The Dayton Triangles/Brooklyn Dodgers/Brooklyn Tigers/Yanks folded in 1945.
  • Boston Yanks was a different franchise, folded in 1948.
  • Baltimore Colts, AAFC franchise absorbed into NFL, folded in 1950.
  • Dallas Texans, franchise awarded in 1952, folded in 1952.
  • Baltimore Colts, awarded in 1953, moved to Indianapolis after 1983 season, current Indianapolis Colts.

There's no connection whatsoever between Dayton Triangles and Indianapolis Colts... The whole section should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmaftei2 (talkcontribs) 00:03, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it should. And the linked article makes that case perfectly clear. I'm deleting it. SixFourThree (talk) 18:34, 14 February 2017 (UTC)SixFourThree[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]
