Suggested addition

I don't know where to add the following or even if it has its place on wikipedia... Confirmed! More recent versions of Nero seem to use a different file structure of the nrg format directly based on ISO. Applications like VirtualBox however detect incorrect sizes for an pure iso and hence refuse loading them. Removing the nrg footer (less than 512 byte if i remember right) however fixes the behavior. --78.53.87.214 (talk) 17:43, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed too! The article should be modified - more recent .nrg files may actually be iso9660 type so that ubuntu's archive manager reads it directly when renamed to .iso! Just running through the code, but looking at the DAOX chunk, the size of the ISRC section is only 8 bytes, not 12. Notability and overly detailed[edit]

Removing notability and overly detailed tags. The measure of notability of a file format is the list of programs which can read/write it. And the one provided in the article is quite extensive. And the description of a file format is useless without the provided details. If someone searches for the .nrg format he is either interested to find a program which can read it or how to read it (that's why the implementations details are important) and this article covers both cases.
