Serbs had similar fate with Jews in WW2, but the cause was different.Serbs were punished for not cooperating with Germany.

Serbs in occupied Serbia (modern Serbia without Kosovo and Bačka and Syrmia) were punished for not cooperating with Nazi-Germany; See: Kragujevac massacre; but Serbs in Croatia were marked as national enemies during WW2 and therefore murdered; See: Jasenovac. Similar destiny overtook Serbs in Bačka that was occupied by Fascist-Hungary; See: History of Novi Sad; and Serbs in Kosovo by Albanian Fascists; See: History of Kosovo.
