Significant usage?[edit]

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) established the Advanced Academic Program (AAP), and changed the criteria for placing children into the AAP so that a variety of information is considered when identifying advanced learners, including—among other possible criteria—test scores on both the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test and the Cognitive Abilities Test, as well as teachers’ ratings on the Gifted Behaviors Rating Scale (with commentary), report cards, parent questionnaires, and student work samples.--Wikidity (talk) 19:23, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Procedural description[edit]

This article would be more helpful to parents & students (especially twice-exceptional) if there were more practical information, at least a brief description of the testing process: What qualifications are required to conduct the exam and/or score/assess the results? Duration? At home? Is it entirely fill-in-the-dot? Can it be administered verbally, written, by computer, or in un-timed segments? Neutrality dispute[edit]

This article is pretty much written as an advertisement for the test. It contains phrases such as "great utility for fair assessment," "particularly effective," and "especially valuable," without making any attempt to back them up with data. Most of the current text, including the advert phrasing, was added by User:Jnaglier in January 2008, with the summary "I have improved the accuracy of the description of my tests." I cannot confirm that this editor is actually Jack Naglieri, rather than some Joe Blow trying to make him look bad, but at any rate it's certainly not NPOV.

An anonymous user later added a section referring to work critical of the NNAI. That section was deleted wholesale by User:JStoddard75 in June 2008, with the justification that it was not factual and objective criticism because it contained the word "properly". This was JStoddard75's only edit. I do not find this justification for deleting an entire section convincing in the least, and I intend to replace the deleted text unless I find something else wrong with it.

I intend to correct these glaring NPOV problems sometime this week, although I invite anyone with the time and knowledge to work on it. --Aurochs (Talk | Block) 23:27, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I think I got all of the advert verbaige. I also deleted the History section, because it didn't contain any actual background information on the NNAT, and I can't see there being enough of that to have a useful section anyway. I reinserted the Criticism section, with edits and a properly formatted citation, but it still needs some work. I'm going to leave the POV tag up for now, and probably change it to something more appropriate in a couple days. --Aurochs (Talk | Block) 02:11, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
