Chamber of Commerce Hanging Out Here?[edit]

I realize it's a small town, but do seafood restaurants, pizza places, and thrift stores really count as "attractions?" --Free-world 01:47, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

pretty bad; anyone want to do a cleanup?
trezjr 01:48, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Welp, I gave it a shot. I moved the "Concrete City" factoid to the "History" section, since that really is an interesting item (and I believe deserving of its own Wikipedia entry) and then nuked the rest. I also renamed "History" to "Trivia," since that's what was listed there (I would encourage anyone who is familiar with the town's founding and other 'historical' facts to create an appropriate history section) and cleaned up some of the wording of the other trivia items. I also added links galore, and asked for a reference on the claim that that street is "famous for being the only road in the United States to have located on it institutions covering all educational levels" (I doubt that assertion is true OR that it's "famous" but I'll let someone prove me wrong). Anyway I hope this helps this article continue on its way as an informative and interesting piece. --Free-world 03:59, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the education piece is correct (as a local legend, anyway), although I think Ripley's used it once; you are right to ask for a citation, however. trezjr 00:47, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History of Nanticoke intertwined with Hanover Twp., PA[edit]

Nanticoke, PA was carved out of Hanover Twp., Luzerne Co. PA. However there is no Wikipedia entry for Hanover. Can someone create one? A history of Hanover Twp. is online at Google Books. This book includes a good history of the founding of Nanticoke.Buckyboot (talk) 10:15, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

READING, PA also has a kindergarten to college on North 13th Street: Since the 1930's, within a stretch of 8 city blocks, you can go from kindergarten at 13th and Green School to Middle School at Northeast...and to Reading High School, 13th and Douglass....and finish with a Master's at Albright College at 13th and Richmond.
