I'll be glad to take this review; I'm sorry you've had to wait so long for one. Let me know if you're still available and we can proceed. This appears at first glance to cover the basics, but there is still work to be done: it needs a bit of copyediting, some sentences need to be updated ("The entire original cast returns to reprise their roles") or sourced (" His character was especially popular among Chicano fans of the original movie"), and the lead should be expanded to touch on at least the show's reception. Thanks for your work on this! I enjoyed the movie, but never got around to the show... so I suppose you can blame me for that cancellation. -- Khazar2 (talk) 10:51, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am available for the review. Thanks for taking it! I have made some changes based on your initial comment: a little copyediting, updated the line about the cast, and removed the line about Chicano fans(I don't know how I missed that line being there). Let me know what else needs to be done. Me5000 (talk) 02:15, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Great! I'll post a more thorough review in the next 1-5 days, then. Thanks for the quick response. -- Khazar2 (talk) 02:43, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at this one in more detail, it seems to me that substantial work will still need to be done here before this is ready to pass GA. A few points below, some important, some trivial:

  • The most significant issue is that the paragraph "Napoleon Dynamite is a 16-year-old boy..." appears to be close paraphrasing of the source (except, oddly, the quotation "sweet skills", which is an incorrect transcription of the source). While I realize this wasn't done with any ill intent, this part will need to be substantially rewritten. You can see WP:PARAPHRASE for how to address these issues.
  • TV Guide's episode summaries appear to be taken verbatim without being put in quotation marks, which presumably also raises copyright issues.
  • It seems important to devote at least a paragraph explaining the movie and its success here, since it forms the basis for the series. Information about the original inspiration for these characters and the movie's story would also be a good addition.
  • The "Main Characters" section appears to contain some uncited quotations and original research, especially in raising the question of LaFawnduh's whereabouts (though I wondered that, too).
  • "No announcement has been made for a DVD or Blu-ray release." -- source?
  • " though Avery looked forward to reprising the role before the show's cancellation." -- source?
  • "he is always trying to ruin his" -- pronouns getting tangled here.

Particularly due to the copyright issues, this article appears to me to need significant work before it will be ready for GA. I'm therefore closing this review and not listing for GA at this time, but please feel free to renominate when the issues are resolved. I'll be glad to put in a word at WT:GAN to try to get this one a faster review for its second attempt. Thanks for all your work, -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:21, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review, I didn't realize the article needed so much work. I'll get on that. The line "No announcement has been made for a DVD or Blu-ray release." I will certainly remove if I need to as a I don't think there is a source, but I thought the lack of announcement was enough for the line to be there. That's why I put that there, because there was no announcement and it is unknown if there will ever be a DVD or Blu-ray. Anyway, I'll try and get all your suggestions done quickly and thanks again for the review. Me5000 (talk) 18:03, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your continued work! -- Khazar2 (talk) 18:06, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've done everything on the list except for "It seems important to devote at least a paragraph explaining the movie and its success here, since it forms the basis for the series. Information about the original inspiration for these characters and the movie's story would also be a good addition." The main problem being lack of sources which are very important for a Good Article. Is a paragraph about that very important for the article to reach GA? I don't understand how to explain the movie, is this just supposed to be a plot description? And does it need sourced? Is the success part just stating the films budget and gross revenue? In terms of success I can not find a single article about it nor can find anything about the inspiration for the film. Me5000 (talk) 22:30, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
