Basically abandoned by the city[edit]

Unfortunately, the cemetery is yet another glaring example of how Nashvillians do little to nothing to preserve sites with historical significance unless directly tied to country music. The cemetery is often in the local news for vandalism of grave sites and markers, since there are no gates keeping anyone out at night. Its location is adjacent to rundown streets that are populated with strip bars and businesses, since all the surrounding neighborhoods have been destroyed by either industry or the interstate system.
