Ethnicity[edit]

Why do we have the ethnicity in this article? It is inappropriate to classify living people based on their ethnicity or tribe.--SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 02:01, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

According to the law. If the owner of the image is not allowing his image to be used in a specific site, the site should not use his image. The image is not in public domain. --SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 02:04, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If the owner of an image releases it with a CC BY license, it can be used by anyone for any purpose as long as attribution is given. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 02:20, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tracking his tribe journey??[edit]

Why would we talk about his tribe in the first place? See #Ethnicity. Tracking his tribe journey is also irrelevant to this article topic. What does his tribe have to do with his biographical article?-.SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 02:07, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Attempt deletion of material[edit]

An editor is attempted to delete sourced information from this article on the groupds that it is a BLP violation, however this argument is specious. If the article was in some way defamatory or otherwise negative, an arguemrnt for that could be made, but infact the material is very positive, talking about the awards the subject has received and so on.

Please remember that simply saying "BLP violation" is not sufficient to remove material, it must actually be stuff that the BLP policies defines as removable. That is not the case here, nor does the subject's request to have informatin removed create a BLP violation. In the absence of a true BLP violation, the sourced material, like all policy-compliant information, cannot be removed without a consensus of the editors on this page.

Please do not remove the information again without a consensus to do so. Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:19, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Beyond My Ken, read WP:BLP. You are not reading it. It says whether the content is positive or negative or even neutral it should not be restored.--SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 02:47, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Afghanistani[edit]

As an scholar for refugee and diaspora studies, the most approperiate identity marker for those people living outside Afghanistan is "Afghanistani" not "Afghan" which is an ethnonym. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marathonmutig (talkcontribs) 18:35, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See Afghans. Of the sources used in the article that mention a nationality, all use "Afghan". None of the sources use "Afghanistani". I think the final nail in the coffin is the name of the subject's blog, "Afghan Lord". We can safely assume he uses "Afghan". For that reason, I'm reverting back to the WP:STATUS QUO until you gain consensus for your edit. – 2.O.Boxing 20:13, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
