Name of the unit.[edit]

Dear friends, I retitled the page with the litteral english translation of the unit name. User @Saftgurka: reverted the edit, stating "National CBRN Defence Centre is the official English name. (https://www.forsvarsmakten.se/en/about/organisation/training-units-schools-and-centres/national-cbrn-defence-centre-skyddc/". I reverted his edit, stating "Sorry, but not quite. There is no "official" english name, the only "official name" is in swedish, like the name of any other unit in the Swedish armed forces. In an encyclopedic context you should either use the official original (swedish) name, or its litteral translation in english, not the title of a webpage. Hope you can agree on that. Please let's discuss that in the Talk section". In the most friendly, relaxed and fully wikipedian collaborative terms I would like to hear about the opinion of other users. I'm fully confident that we will get to a shared opinion and avoid any pointless edit war. All the best. --Arturolorioli (talk) 15:09, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dear @Saftgurka:, could you please enter your comments on the matter? Thanks in advance! All the best. --Arturolorioli (talk) 08:48, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Arturolorioli: The unit is translated by the Swedish Armed Forces as the National CBRN Defence Centre. See Established unit names in English, issued by the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters on 13 June 2007: "Försvarsmaktens gemensamma identitet – direktiv för användandet av Försvarsmaktens namn, profil och bild" [The common identity of the Swedish Armed Forces - directives for the use of the Armed Forces' name, profile and image] (PDF). 1.3 (in Swedish). Dear Saftgurka, thanks for the information. I have added a note to the voice, so other users will understand the reason for this not-litterally translated unit name. All the best. --Arturolorioli (talk) 14:03, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
