NIS TAITA-TAVETA REGIONAL OFFICE : As law abiding citizens, concerned with the trend the insecurity in the area is taking, we tend to hold the view that accurate, balanced and prompt information to the relevant security organs shapes our contemporary security environment more than any other aspect of our safety has. Many residents are shocked by the conduct of an officer at the NIS Taita-Taveta office at Voi who insist on knowing the identity of the source instead of receiving the information and verify it. As a matter of fact what happened to the right of giving information on crime and corruption anonymously? Has it been discontinued?. Rather than exhibiting raging arrogance to people offering information the NIS,Taita-Taveta office needs to find a common ground with citizens offering information without insisting on identity especially those fearing harmful exposure.
