neighborhoods[edit]

Maybe, instead of letters, we should divide the Louisville section into neighborhoods, ior some other geographic divisions?--Bedford 07:31, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently the art library at UL has the original application forms for all of the properties before 1982. These would be relatively easy to turn into encyclopedia articles and may actually be in the public domain. Not sure where post-1982 ones are... hopefully somewhere other than Washington DC. --W.marsh 19:51, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to the Metro-Mapper, at http://www.metromapper.org/index-historic.php , we might finally be able to divide into neighborhoods. Might start with downtown and Butchertown. Would you call downtown the area between 9th, I-65, Ohio River, and Broadway as the definition of "downtown", and directly to the east is Butchertown?--Bedford (talk) 06:40, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definitions[edit]

Downtown: Broadway-Ohio River & 9th Street-I-65
Highlands: Rough triangle of I-64, I-264, and Poplar Level Rd.
Old Louisville: Broadway-UofL, I-65-South 7th
Portland: North of Market, West of 9th.
West End: North of Algoinquin, West of 7th, not already in Downtown or Portland section.

Greve, Buhrlage, and Company ones[edit]

In this edit just now, I added a second row for the 2nd of two places named Greve, Buhrlage, and Company. Could someone else check this? And correct coordinates are needed. The two places are separately listed, with reference numbers 83002675 and 83002674. They're located at 1501 Lytle St., Louisville, Kentucky and at 312-316 N. 15th St., Louisville, Kentucky. Maybe one is to be covered, or already is covered, in downtown louisville separate list-article? I haven't thoroughly checked this, but think that 2nd one might have been deleted erroneously from the list-table, because the NRHP list-table generator itself is faulty in a minor way, in that it provides same coordinates for both places. Overhaul of Jefferson County lists[edit]

Since this page was maxing out Wikipedia's template limits, I overhauled the Jefferson County lists. I spent more hours than I care to think about checking the neighborhoods of each listing, one by one, using a combination of MapQuest's Neighborhoods feature, Neighborhoodlink.com, maps available on the Louisville/Jefferson County Information Consortium website and descriptions of neighborhood boundaries here on Wikipedia. I created two new lists for sites in The Highlands and Old Louisville to reduce the size of the main Jeff Co list. I think this goes without saying in these parts, but anyone with better local knowledge than me, please feel free to modify or even completely rework what I've done. --sanfranman59 (talk) 07:04, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your efforts! There were several that were still blank so I filled them in; anything I added "vicinity" to are now in Louisville. It may make sense to regroup the lists more broadly since, with the Louisville Metro Council anything that was in the unincorporated parts of Jefferson County became part of the combined City/County. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:39, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to make sure that all of these locations be checked for coord errors. Nobody else need worry about it; I'll get everything.
