This article is incorrect![edit]

Old Parliament House Gardens is totally separate from the National Rose Garden. Old Parliament House Gardens are located on both sides of Old Parliament House were as National Rose Garden is located in front of the Old Parliament House. Bidgee (talk) 02:28, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. This article accurately describes the Old Parliament House Gardens, not the National Rose Gardens. I think the listing in the Australian Heritage Database (AHDB) is definitive. It describes the National Rose Garden (under "Statement of Significance") as being in front of Old Parliament House. The Old Parliament House Gardens are on both sides of Old Parliament House. Under "Location" (at the bottom of the page), the AHDB describes the National Rose Garden as being located at "King George Terrace and Parkes Place, Parkes, on the southern halves of Block 4 Section 34 and Block 1 Section 59, Parkes." That corresponds to this location I've marked in Google Maps. The images shown in the AHDB also confirm is location, especially those showing the front of Old Parliament House which is not visible from the Old Parliament House Gardens. Google Maps also shows both gardens in the locations I've described.

I can probably be considered an expert in this field as I have GIS experience and have performed Australian government mapping work for Heritage purposes.

I believe this page should be renamed to Old Parliament House Gardens and a new page created for National Rose Garden using information from the AHDB.

I also agree. The 'National Rose Garden' and the 'Old Parliament House Gardens' are separate. Both gardens are administered by the National Capital Authority. The 'Old Parliament House Gardens' consist of the House of Representatives (located East of OPH) and Senate (located West of OPH). It is heritage listed as its own entity. The 'National Rose Garden' is North of OPH, divided on either side of the Local Aboriginal Tent Embassy. Locally known as Nationals East and Nationals West. They are also heritage but as part of the larger surrounds of parks, trees and statues. Not listed as individual heritage gardens. NorthEast*Canberra (talk) 13:07, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
