Stub started[edit]

Haven't been active on wikipedia for months, but am looking at expanding this after more analysis of entire National Strategy for Homeland Security (NSHS) document. Still waiting to see if there will be a sunbstantial update by Obama administration. -- Hotfeba (talk) 01:15, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NSHS is a strategy document. IPS is a planning system. While NSHS inevitably shares some foundational concepts with IPS, they are too disparate to be associated in the same entry. HSPD-8 creates IPD. HSPD-8 is not promulgated by the NSHS. While it is true that NSHS promotes the "prevent, protect, prepare, respond, recover" mantra, IPS can be utilized for plans that address only one of those topics. For example, when using Crisis Action Planning, planners may only address response activities and use contingency plans for recovery planning. --198.116.139.5 (talk) 18:04, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
