Oops! I haven't got the bibliographic reference anymore but it seems Hitler was quite exasperated with Himmler's efforts to fish around for archaeological evidence of Aryan superiority. The book quoted him as saying all Himmler would prove is that other civilizations were living in proper cities while Europeans were still stuck in huts and caves. --Arthur Borges 04:04, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

This is an interesting article but it needs better sourcing. The connection of Kossinna's theories to Tacitus appears tenuous. I don't see why it should be highlighted in the lead. Furthermore, it would be nice to have a passage about the Nazi activities in Tibet (search for Shambala, etc). --Ghirla ^-трёп- 16:46, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to see what I can find, but I was working from an article I read about Nazi-based archaeology that said Kossina's theories were instrumental in giving Hitler and Himmler the idea to build it out further. Strange Bits[edit]

It seems to me that some parts of the article were not written by somebody who understands German. Particularly this sentence from the end of the article does not make sense at all:

Reinerth followed Hitler’s theory, Zutreffenden Männer deutsche reinheit.

What the dickens are "appropriate men of german purity", and what is the theory about them? And Hitler's theory? He usually build on others. There might of course be phrase of "(z)Zutreffenden Männer deutsche Reinheit" in some text, but that sentence does not make sense at all.

Similarly, there was a paragraph about the renaming of a museum in Mainz. I sincerely doubt that anybody who does not speak German would understand what it was about. In fact, the really important word would probably be missed by a lot of Germans, too.

Biskupin destroyed by Nazis?[edit]

I removed this sentence:

For example, at the prehistoric site Biskupin, in Poland, the Nazi destroyed the entire site since its existence did not favor a "Germanic" viewpoint.

This anecdote sounded plausible, but I went looking for a source and didn't find any. The Biskupin Museum's site conspicuously omits any mention of Nazis, or in fact WWII in general. There's also an awful lot of stuff there today for an entirely "destroyed" site.

If some reliable source does claim that Nazis destroyed Biskupin for ideological reasons during WWII, then please put back the removed sentence with a reference. --Quuxplusone (talk) 06:04, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Official archaeology is actually THE NAZI ACRCHAEOLOGY. Official archaeology produces blood libel against ancient religions in the form of human sacrifice. I examine six years ancient native american religions! I have collected over 100 facts! Archaeology in the service of politics.
