Allegory citation neccessary?[edit]

The outlink to the citation for the sentence, "The narrative structure unfolds through musical and rhetorical allegories[6]" goes to a Yahoo search result that then redirects to a reference site (ThoughtCo.) that defines the term "allegory". I added the wikilink to the Wikipedia page for 'allegory', so it seems to me like the citation could be deleted.

The citation link does not bring the reader to a specific source (like a filmmaker, a critic, a viewer, etc.) that describes the film as using allegory, nor to a source that provides a specific example of how this film uses allegory. For example, the citation could link to a newspaper review of the film that describes it as "allegorical" or says something like "The extradimensional community 'Unanimous Goldmine' is an allegory for the virtual communities brought together through modern communication technology."

TLDR: It seems redundant to have a citation that takes the reader to another encyclopedia-type website to describe a term. CC.TulaneLibrary (talk) 15:21, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
