I don't get why it's says that the site was founded in 2004 ? I think these are the right years. Note that before 2005 the website was only active in Belgium.

1999: asl.to was founded 2002: asl.to became redbox 2005: launch of facebox 2006: launch of netlog —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.11.191.101 (talk) 09:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The number of users is not properly referenced. The quote is from Nov 2007, and the data apparently belong to mid 2008. --Xabier Cid (talk) 19:47, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spam[edit]

The "Spam" section needs citation, or should be removed. Ruebrylla 21:43, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Curious how these things tend to "disappear" from the article, even if there are sources. // tsca @ 14:28, 26 April 2007 (UTC) $[reply]

There are three citations that describe this, it should remain in the article to reflect NPV. Enquire (talk) 00:51, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I added a Spam section after having been fooled by Netlog. I must say that I was very disappointed with Wikipedia. The first thing I did when I received an invitation to join Netlog was to go to Wikipedia to check it out. I figured that Wikipedia would have an article that would let me judge it this organization was well-behaved or not. After reading the article I decided it could be trusted.

Then to my dismay, it spammed everyone in my contact list and every friend on Facebook.

I feel like the Wikipedia community let me down.

I added the Spamming section in the hope that I'll spare the next person the pain I'm going through now as I apologize to everyone in my contacts list and all my Facebook friends. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rtycast (talkcontribs) 04:47, 18 July 2011 (UTC) Someone removed the section on spamming again. Why? is there a shill here on wikipedia acting on behalf of Netlog? After the initial incident, the addresses in my contact lists continue to get spam from Netlog. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.174.47.163 (talk) 13:07, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to reformulate this paragraph to be more neutral. 95.117.250.24 (talk) 20:26, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name change?[edit]

Was the name changed from Facebox to Netlog because, facebook told them to change or else (bully boy tactics)? 86.166.28.131 (talk) 21:45, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

netlog in catalan[edit]

netlog Catalan language has been eliminated and all users and profiles.

In most English countries too it has changed to Twoo and has to be paid for.

Situation today?[edit]

I don't think that Netlog still is a "social network", as the requirement for social networks is people that are using them. Reading this article, it seems as if Netlog is a social network just as Twitter, Google+ or Facebook, which is obviously not true: In Austria, which is relatively near to Belgium, only 1% of the population is using Netlog. Also, I think that in my whole life I've never seen a Netlog-sharing button.
