Server virtualization, a technology that has become mainstream,[clarification needed] originally gained popularity when VMWare entered the market in 2001 with its GSX server software.
This is ridiculous. IBM's mainframes in the 1970s did virtualization - the OS was called VM/370. And, one could debug the kernel by running a VM in another VM with a special debugger. Chances are IBM wasn't the first. Back then, the 'server' was called the 'mainframe', and the 'client' was an alphanumeric terminal.
The phrase "has become" isn't timeless - what will it mean when someone reads it in 10 years? Give a year. OsamaBinLogin (talk) 04:49, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
