This highway is basically the former designation of Valley of Fire Road, which is a Nevada Scenic Byway. Valley of Fire Road currently redirects to the article on the park. History/pictures could be added to pull the road info out of the park article.

SR 40 followed Valley of Fire Road in its entirety. ~~SR 40 became part of SR 169 in the renumbering and was truncated later.~~ --LJ (talk) 23:16, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
