The Wiki low ranking is quite incorrect for a movement that ran for such a long time and had such significant regional and national effects. However, to properly upgrade this page is quite a big task while meeting Wiki standards for so much of the historical material on the movement is in in the form of theses. There is also a problem that the Wikipedia material on key people and events linked in some way with the movement is either poor or non-existent.

Over the next month or so I will have a go at upgrading this entry and creating or upgrading supporting entries so that readers can get something of a pciture.--Jim Belshaw (talk) 09:40, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I hadn't heard of that name, Gobono. I know most of the names, but that's new.

I suppose I should put a caveat up, too. My family has been involved with the new state movement for over ninety years! I was on the executive for a period as the rep of the University of New England New State Society. I have begun publishing my PhD thesis on the life of David Drummond up to 1942. This includes detailed discussion of the history of the New England Movement.
