Relationship to Betty Newman

The article seems to imply that Newman is married to his daughter with the phrase "Newman's daughter/wife Betty Newman", can someone clarify this statement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.232.85.222 (talk) 17:19, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Charities

Is it possible to add a link to a list of charities to which Paul Newman donates to (on behalf of Newman's Own)? It looks kind of fishy that there isn't that kind of information on the Newman's Own website.

of course it's kind of fishy. There are many ways to get money out of companies that wipe out profits. For example, pay yourself a large salary, that enriches you and diminishes profit. If the company has a lot of debt (Newman could have lent it money, companies need a lot of money to grow) then the interest payments would transfer money out of the company, and decrease the profit. In any case, the company and brand have a value, and the assets can be sold for many millions. What he meant to say is "I give to charity, and these profits allow me to give more" but that doesn't have that sort of earnestness that was called for 96.224.36.234 (talk) 22:46, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

The one big thing this article is missing is the LOCATION of the Newman's Own company. Where is it? Can we assume it was near Westport, Connecticut since Paul Newman lived there? Also, to the people above who say, "Gee it's fishy that his web site doesn't say where the money went..." please learn to read. The Newman Foundation web site talks about the Hole In The Wall Camp in Ashford: They give money to kids with cancer. So there is a big one right there: They give money to their own camp. In Ashford. For kids with Cancer. The web site also has a video up with information on "Newman’s Own Foundation Campus Community Service Challenge". They give grants to universities, and they have a big list there. The partial list is:

$25,000 - University at Albany, partnered with The Giving Circle
$15,000 - Binghamton University partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of Binghamton
$10,000 - Boston University partnered with Community Servings, Inc.
$10,000 - University of New Hampshire partnered with Girls Scouts of the Green and White Mountains

And, in case you guys are complete idiots, there is a fucking pie chart on this page, showing the breakdown of the Newman's Own Foundation charitable giving: http://www.newmansownfoundation.org/giving/ Oh hey, there's your link right there! (clap clap)

Linking to the first party's uncited website isn't really sufficient. Where's the paper trail? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.79.143.244 (talk) 20:55, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

The the guy who mentioned the various charities that are supported by the Newman's Own foundation, you didn't exactly need to talk down to people in your post, nor did you have to use vulgarity. Going into what seems to be "nerd rage" over a set of comments in the talk page isn't exactly productive.

As for the location of his foundation, perhaps this wasn't on the site when you made your post, but as of the time stamp of my post it is very clearly listed.

Might I suggest you be a WEE bit more civil, and a bit less condescending? 76.178.190.166 (talk) 23:49, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
