I'll review this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 17:33, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

An initial note: there are two deadlinks in the references, per this tool. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 17:57, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've copyedited a little; please revert if needed.

  • The first sentence in the "Format" section is broken up by a long interjection about the production after only two words. This isn't a very readable way to start the article. Can the information about production be pulled out and given separately?
  • opting to instead use footage involving the story with illustration on the story being reported through narration: I think this could be a bit clearer. What does "illustration on the story" mean? And what does it mean to say it's "reported through narration"?
  • the substitution of teases before breaks in favor of the aforementioned visual tags to indicate segments and stories set to air: normally "the substitution of X for Y" means that Y was replaced by X. Here I think you mean that the teases are replaced by the tags, so I'd make this "...the elimination of teases" instead.
  • Apparently there are two separate production processes, for the different regions, but you only mention one narrator for the weeknight editions and one narrator for the weekend editions. Do the KIAH and WSFL versions both use the same narrators?
  • which regularly fell behind newscasts on most of its main English and Spanish station competitors: clarify that "fell behind" refers to ratings.
  • with (later aborted) plans to launch a weekday morning newscast earlier that year: how can you have plans to launch something earlier? I'm not sure what is intended here.
  • Do we need the parenthetical comment about Abrams' resignation? It's a digression here. Similarly, do we need to mention that Duitch later left KDAF?
  • after being rejected by station management: I think this means "by KDAF's station management"; if so, I'd suggest making that change to make it clearer.

That's everything for a first pass. I'll take another look once these points are addressed. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 13:18, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

MrWooHoo: are you planning to respond? I'll wait another week and will fail this article then if I don't hear from you. If you need more time, let me know. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 15:22, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You might as well fail it; the editor has been inactive since last year. Slightlymad 05:39, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that. No harm in a waiting a few more days just in case they return; the queue is so long these days I have a lot of sympathy for nominators losing faith in the process. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 12:09, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No response, so I am failing this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 15:55, 7 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
