EB1911 article name[edit]

@User:Wikid77, you recently made an edit to this Wikiepia article, that included adding an article name to the {{EB1911}} template. What makes you think that the name of the EB1911 article is "Nicolas-Théodore de Saussure"?

What you have to do is log onto the Wikisource encyclopedia EB1911 page s:EB1911 then to the appropriate volume in this case s:1911 Encyclopædia Britannica/Vol 24 SAINTE-CLAIRE DEVILLE to SHUTTLE, then the subsection: s:1911 Encyclopædia Britannica/Vol 24:6 and look up the name. In this case "Saussure, Nicolas Théodore de".

Once you have found the volume number (in this case 24), if the article does not exist on Wikisource please go to wikipeida EB1911#External links and find the url to an appropriate page. In this case:

https://archive.org/stream/encyclopaediabri24chisrich#page/238/mode/2up

you now have all the information you need to construct a full citation. The article name, and volume and with that, if the article has not been ported to Wikisource, it can be used to find the URL and from that the page number:

As most EB1911 article names are not the same as Wikipedia names (EB1911 sorts on surname while Wikiepdia uses natural order), Wikipeida never uses the same article name for more than one article, EB1911 does not need to disambiguate so it frequently does. It is for theses reasons that defaulting the EB1911 article name to the Wikipedia name is deprecated.
