"The United States is Nigeria's greatest trading partner and is undeniably its most important diplomatic partner."

Untitled[edit]

I placed the POV tag when creating the article because it is pasted from a US government website. Because this comes from a US govt source it may not be neutral, but I don't have the expertise to judge. (Hopefully others that know more will simply remove the tag if they think the article looks okay.) Mangostar (talk) 01:30, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Surprised by source[edit]

I felt the article was very kind towards the corrupt government institutions of Nigeria. Therefore, I was surprised to learn that the article was originally copied from a United States government website. Before learning of the source, I assumed the text had been written by a supporter of President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. In my opinion the United States government website source tends to lend credibility to the article, including it's neutrality. MikeMikebreakrun3 (talk) 04:55, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

False perceptions are not facts[edit]

Obviously Mike is not an expert on nigerian issues. An article on wikipedia should not be based on biased western media's view of Nigeria, but rather on truth and facts. This article is totally biased and does not mention what the US have benefitted from Nigeria. It is silly to believe that wikipedia will suceed if it is used as a tool for pushing "US is the light of the world/ The rest are evil" propaganda that some people falsely hold on to. False perceptions are not facts! Get it straight. I agree that Nigerian government is corrupt; however, this section is not about that. The same can be said about US government anyway. ItIsMe

The word "oil" appears once. It is one of the strongest ties between both governments. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.177.235.72 (talk) 03:42, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
