old picture

With MVP losing the gold to Matt Hardy and Randy Orton losing the title to Triple H, isn't this picture more of a spoiler that some will have the title again? Gamloverks (talk) 16:25, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Not neccessarily. Plans change, and this photo was probably taken a few months ago. Besides check out The Great American Bash (2007). Rey Mysterio's on the poster, but he didn't return until SummerSlam... ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 17:44, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Alright, I was just wondering about it. Gamloverks (talk) 14:52, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I wonder if it'd be of encyclopedic interest to show in the article the various versions of the posters that were printed. It would show the historical changes of them and brighten up the article, obviously in the info box we should leave the finalised one, but if WWE keep this Night of Champions theme over the years, most years there will probably be last minute changes (like 'Taker to Edge last year etc.) and so maybe we could always show an archive of the changing champions posters. Tony2Times (talk) 14:25, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Agreed.LifeStroke420 (talk) 23:56, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

matches

I have added all the championships down as all titles will be on the line. --81.99.45.87 (talk) 05:37, 21 May 2008 (UTC)chrispowellathome. I also put TBA next to the championships.

Okay, but we only place matches on here when they have been announced. None of the matches have been announced yet. Please do not add matches until they have been announced on WWE TV (Raw, Smackdown, or ECW) or WWE.com.--WillC (talk) 06:37, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

But we also know what titles will be on the line. --81.99.42.129 (talk) 05:34, 22 May 2008 (UTC)chrispowellathome

Yes we know they will be at the ppv but we don't know if that is the exact matches that will be there. There could be Champions vs Champions matches or unification matches. Also matches are only to be placed on there after they have been announced on WWE TV or on WWE.com. And wwe.com has no matches on the card yet and wwe has only said a few words about. No matches have been announced besides one. So no matches are to be placed on there besides the ECW title match.--WillC (talk) 06:34, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

As soon as they say something officially along the lines of "all championships will be defended", or "eight championship matches", then they're going to be added. Mshake3 (talk) 21:27, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

they said exactly that at one night stand in a preview for night of champions. Diivoo (talk) 10:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Eight Annual?

Would it really be considered the Eight annual Night of Champions? Seeing as the first 7 years are Vengeance and the last of the 7 was Vengeance: Night of Champions, technically this is the first year of the official Night of Champions and the second year of a PPV with the name Night of Champions in the title. 68.37.181.21 (talk) 01:56, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

It is still the same event, like Taboo Tuesday and Cyber Sunday, and per this article the events continued annually as they carry the same lineage.--SRX 02:31, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
That's not an accurate comparision. Taboo Tuesday and Cyber Sunday are the same style interactive PPV. Saying in the lead that there have been eight NOC events is 100% wrong. Mshake3 (talk) 21:26, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
I have elaborated it more in the lead.--SRX 22:27, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Well you elaborated it inaccuratly. They're not the same event. Mshake3 (talk) 22:48, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Of course they are not the same event "literally", but Vengeance is the predecessor of NoC, and they carry the same linage and history. Thus they are part of the same series, but with different names, different concept or not.SRX 22:54, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
They carry the same history? According to WWE, or you? Mshake3 (talk) 23:03, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
WWE. The name of last years event was Vengeance Night of Champions, this year it's just called Night of Champions, you do the math.SRX 23:12, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
I think this debate will be ended when WWE.com put the 2008 NOC website up and we can see what they say under "history" 217.42.3.42 (talk) 08:56, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
That's what I was thinking as well. Mshake3 (talk) 10:58, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

WWE recongnizes Night of Champions as carrying the lineage of Vengeance. http://www.wwe.com/shows/nightofchampions/ - scroll down a bit to the pic with Edge. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 21:36, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

See Mshake, nothing to worked up about. =)SRX--LatinoHeat 22:25, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

This is the second annual event because the WWE recognizes Vengeance from 2001-2006 and Night of Champions from 2007. 76.110.82.251 (talk) 20:58, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Don't delete matches

The page has already listed the FACT that all championships will be defended thus the current entries are correct and have indirectly been announced. If that doesn't sway you then remember it will be easier to enter the actual competitors when they are announced. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.172.40.244 (talk) 10:54, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

true all eight will be on the line but there could be a champion vs. champion match. plus it is consensus not to add matches until they are announced on wwe.com or raw, smackdown, or ecw. 1362talk 13:57, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Exactly what 1362 stated, per consensus at WP:PW, matches (even if they are known before hand) are not to be added until WWE announces them, because they could easily make it a champion vs champion match, a unification match, or a new title could be introduced, etc.--SRX--LatinoHeat 14:26, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
So if a WWE commercial announces that there'll be eight championship matches, then all eight title defenses can be added. Mshake3 (talk) 17:24, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
But how are they being defended? What if the Tag Titles are to be unified, for example? That would mean one less match. What if there's plans to re-instate the Cruiserweight Title? There's still too many variables. We should just add what's specifically announced, when it's announced.  Hazardous Matt  18:06, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Not if there are eight titles, and they say "eight championship matches". If that is announced, are you going to say "well they might create a new title and drop another one?" For the sake of mankind, I hope not. Mshake3 (talk) 19:32, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Truthfully, we don't know what they're planning. Who knows how recently the commercial was made. And let's not forget the poster is already out of date as Undertaker is no longer a champion. Let's just wait till the matches are announced one-by-one.  Hazardous Matt  19:34, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Ok last year they had the same deal, all championships on the line, they almost did not have the Tag Team titles from SD defended, but it was added on the last minute, which is why we can't predict the future.--SRX--LatinoHeat 21:07, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Except that the match was officially scheduled, removed, then readded. Mshake3 (talk22:48, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Your all arguing that matches shouldn't be added as they may change, but even if they are announced by WWE they could still more than likely change leading up to the event. Basically the possibility of matches changing is the same on top of the fact as stated above all 8 championships will be defended in 8 seperate matches- meaning no unification matches or new titles.

agree. The commercial says, all titles will be defended. so we can add that info now. but then - what if the draft (1 week prior to night of champions) mixes things up? maybe they change matches after the draft? considering that, i think, we shouldn't add matches at all... the embarrassment would be HUGE if we add something, that is changed afterwards! please note the irony here... Diivoo (talk) 11:02, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

We shouldn't even be discussing this. We are a second hand source. WWE is the first hand source, and in light of that we should follow the first hand source and ad what the first hand source has for matches. So what if it changes, WWE looks more stupid compared to us since their the first and most reliable source. So don't delete matches and stick to what WWE is saying. on the Night of Champions commercial it said all titles will be defended, it is a night of defendents, so i guess all titles are gonna be defended. - nick —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.237.144.71 (talk) 06:53, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Edge Vs Batista

Edge Vs Batista has been announced on smackdown! I thought I would say this because I dont know how to edit it properly, can someone else do it. And please dont say prove it, just watch Smackdown tomorrow and you will see i am right! 86.158.45.26 (talk) 17:45, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Even before it was aired in Aus it was going to be obvious Batista was going to challenge for it considering SD only ever uses Edge, Batista and Taker. WeLsHy (talk) 02:09, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
During the ENTIRE broadcast, the match was never said to be at Night of Champions. Thus, it still can't be added. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 02:16, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
The match is stated of taking place on Batista's entry [1]

Judging by the GAB poster, I strongly believe Edge drops the title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.228.80.166 (talk) 00:48, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

New title in the WWE (WWE Diva Championship)

On the last Smackdown there was a Golden Dream match in which the winner would go to Night of Champions to crown the first champion. Natalya (Nattie Niedhart) won it. I think it should be added to the card. Check the Power 25 for proof. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaro Link (talkcontribs) 20:03, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah it is goiung to be defended at Night Of Champions —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.205.161 (talk) 22:15, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

We don't know that for sure all we know is it could mean she get a shot at the Woman title I mean remember the last time this happens come on people their not adding a other title use common sense supermike (talk —Preceding comment was added at 20:58, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

I watched the segment and Vickie said that Smackdown is getting a women's title. And that the first champion would be crowned at Night of Champions. That is pretty clear. and she called it the Divas Championship. Not the Women's title. There is a new title and the first champion will be crowned at Night of Champions. Which makes no sense because WWE's women's division sucks.--WillC 21:02, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

That does not mean anything remember back in 2005 when John cena was sent to Raw they were going to make a smackdown world title well that all change when the world title got trade to smackdown This is juts like that and as for the WWE women's division sucking when were woman ever good at wrestling EVER that when supermike (talk —Preceding comment was added at 22:20, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

It is possible but this is in a totally different way. If the Women's Champion is drafted to SD then Raw is left without a title. Also there is no champion on this title so it can't change brands. If the Women's title is drafted to SD then Raw would have to make another title. Anyway I don't think WWE would start the storyline if the title is never going to be made. When the draft in 05 happened over many weeks.--WillC 22:28, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

You do know the womans title is defend on both shows Trust me All the news site have said there no new woman title being made it was shot down by Vince supermike (talk —Preceding comment was added at 22:55, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Cherry should be removed as a contender for the Diva's Championship. According to the storyline, Vicki Guerrero will decide the second particpant in the next few weeks. The match itself has not been made an official Night of Champions match according to WWE.com, but that's being discussed above. BostonDGB (talk) 11:59, 14 June 2008 (UTC) BostonDGB

The Diva Championship should be mentioned. C'mon, the divas on Smackdown finally get a chance to win a title. Natalya will probably win but it still should be mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.175.245.155 (talk) 02:34, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

WWE Draft Effects?

This one is going to be hard to do or put a SET title in place because they're going to have the WWE draft like the week before this PPV airs, which means any match is not guaranteed or set in stone because any one star could be shifted over to a different brand. For example, Edge could get drafted over to Raw unless Batista followed him over, Edge would have to get another opponent or this might not matter and be a Raw vs. Smackdown kind of match, or Batista and John Cena could switch places, meaning Cena would face Edge, and Batista would face Triple H. Of course, this is all purely speculation. I just think we have to keep in mind that the WWE draft could in turn change the PPV. Gamloverks (talk) 22:40, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Last year the draft was the week before Vengeance: Night of Champions. Micheal Cole said even if Batista is drafted to Raw he would still get his match against Edge for the WHC. Also any champions that are drafted will probably have their title vacated. So these matches are probably going to stay the way they are because WWE wouldn't put time, effort, and money in each match if they are going to be change them.--WillC 23:10, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
WillC is quite correct. They wouldn't spend 4 weeks building up a match that won't happen. I don't think that the draft will influence this PPV at all. -GuffasBorgz7- 23:49, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
This would be a problem if the draft was actually random. WWE wouldn't make such a bad business decision like that. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 02:00, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Good points from all. Gamloverks (talk) 04:48, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
IIRC, the only title that was vacated by draft was the ECW Championship in the '07 draft, and in every other instance the title went with the champion. So I'm thinking that if any champion besides Kane gets drafted, then they would most likely drop their title to the NOC opponent. Pure speculation though. Flyingcandyman (talk) 21:52, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Logically..the title would go with them to the brand they were drafted to. Say Batista or Cena gets drafted to Raw or SmackDown, and they beat Edge or HHH at NoC. They take their belt with them to the other show. After all, this did happen in '05 when Cena was drafted to Raw and they for about a month had two World Championships. Basically every title but the ECW title can be taken to another show. They serve in kayfabe that ECW is a separate entity in the WWE and that the belt must remain on the show. TonyFreakinAlmeida (talk) 02:29, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
I think that the whole '05 thing was just to swap the titles between the shows. I think that the WWE title is higher valued and they wanted it on WWE's prime show. If a champion gets draft this year, unless they are swapping the titles on shows, they will be stripped. They also wouldn't spend 4 weeks building up a match for it to not happen, there isn't much to worry about. -GuffasBorgz7- 08:45, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Exactly. Take last year for example: Bobby Lashley, after having defeated McMahon to win the ECW Championship, was drafted to Raw while still champion. He was stripped of the title and it was not taken over to Raw. –LAX 14:15, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
And forget all the NOC stuff, this draft could be huge! We could have triple h on smackdown, batista to ecw, cm punk sent to raw, ANYTHING! i cant wait! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.79.229.3 (talk) 09:48, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
To Guff - The titles definitely won't be stripped 6 days before a PPV where every WWE title is supposed to be defended. We'll probably end up seeing interbrand title matchups at NoC as a result of the draft. Also, there have been "rumors" going around for months that many in the company want to put somewhat of an end to the brand extension. So they could end up putting a couple similar titles on the same show as a way to cut down on the roster extension. TonyFreakinAlmeida (talk) 16:09, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
To clear up this issue, the draft has no effect whatsoever on the titles or matches at NoC as they've stated on Raw all night. Kane is now on Raw with the ECW Title, but he'll most definitely be losing that title this Sunday. TonyFreakinAlmeida (talk) 02:40, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Ted DiBiase Jr

Just to be 100% correct, could someone add the "Jr." to his name, it says "Ted DiBiase", but links to Ted DiBiase Jr.'s page. Right now it makes it look like the Million Dollar Man is in the match, not his son. 96.227.50.211 (talk) 02:27, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Except that WWE credits him on air and in mentions on WWE.com as "Ted DiBiase" without the suffix. It all depends on how you define "100% correct" now, doesn't it? -- RoninBK T C 11:35, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Future Matches.

In your opinion, what do you think the present and future matches will turn out to be?

My idea is that the WWE Championship will be HHH v John Cena v Jeff Hardy, World Heavyweight will be the same, United States Match will be the same, Divas Championship will either be Natalya v Victoria or a SmackDown/ECW Divas Gauntlet, womens Champinship will be Mickie v Beth or Mickie v Beth v Melina, Intercontinental Championship will be Y2J v HBK, WWE Tag Championship will be Miz and Morrison v Finlay and Hornswoggle, and World Tag Championship will be Rhodes and Holly v Ted DiBiase Jr. and DH Smith.

The preview on WWE.com for next week's SmackDown says that no-one knows when the belt will be awarded, so the Divas Championship match should be removed from this entry until it's absolutely sure it's happening at the PPV. Steveweiser (talk) 20:34, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

I found another source on prowrestling that said - It was announced on Smackdown last night that Natalya Neidihart is still scheduled to face a diva for the Smackdown Women's title. They didn't announce that it will take place at Night Of Champions PPV and it's not listed on WWE.com. Since it is not officially a title yet, it might not take place on the PPV. Yes I agree with you steveweiser but everytime I delete somebodfy puts it back and now ive been warned ill be blocked if i keep deleting it so you can take it out if you want. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wwenormalfan (talkcontribs) 00:09, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

It says in 1 of the sources: “Natalya won the Golden Dreams Match to earn her spot at Night of Champions. Her opponent may not be known yet, but one thing is for sure. Natalya will be one tough opponent for whoever she faces.” So its happening at night of champions! This is from WWE.COM! Vickie Guerrero will probably announce her opponent at night of champions So because of the source it should stay! Adster95 (talk) 09:04, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I doubt it. They didn't even mention the match occurring at NoC on the last SmackDown. They probably pushed it to Great American Bash. Also, Vickie was supposed to choose Nattie's opponent on the last SD, but that never happened. Kind of makes no sense to surprise Nattie and give her someone she "isn't ready for" the night of the PPV. TonyFreakinAlmeida (talk) 15:26, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Again I have seen http://www.wwe.com/shows/nightofchampions/ and they dont show the match.I think it should be deleted as the ppv is today and we still don't know if it will take place. Wwenormalfan (talk) 16:02, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I finally found something that now confirms that the divas title will not be defended I found this on pwmania.com.It said --It doesn't look like a new SmackDown Divas Champion will be crowned tonight at Night of Champions. During the International version of this past week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Mick Foley (on commentary) made reference to the new Diva Championship, and how Vickie Guerrero would select an opponent for Natalya at Night of Champions. However, this piece of commentary was erased from the U.S. airing of the show. On another note, WWE.com posted the following in their preview for next week's show: "Finally, what about the new Divas Championship? When will Natayla find out who she will face for the coveted new title? And when will the title finally be contested?"

There isn't that match any more. why do people keep adding it. power 25 is the only strong source you have for it being tonight and even tht isnt that strong. power 25 gets it wrong sometimes. as people always say things are subject to change and it looks as if it has with this championship. its not on wwe.com's page for it and we are always told to go by wwe.com so why aren't we now?Black6989 (talk) 23:40, 29 June 2008 (UTC)Black6989

On Smackdown they even announced that the Divas Championship's first champion will be decided at Night of Champions during the 6 Divas tag team match. So there is no reason to remove it because that is a announcement.--WillC 00:54, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
If you look at the article you will see that the championship was not decided. TrekFanatic (talk) 03:28, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
I don't know what to tell you but WWE announced it on SD that it would be there. I guess last minute changes.--WillC 03:34, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Maybe it'll be this week on smackdown because they mention the title on the smackdown's preview at wwe.com Wwenormalfan (talk) 16:16, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Unconfirmed Matches

Santino Marella says that he is desperate for an intercontinental championship title match at Night of Champions........ go to [2] ==WWE Tag Team Championship==. --Jkerl8 (talk) 08:08, 27 June 2008 (UTC)submitted by User:Jkerl8

Okay, but that doesn't mean the match is going to happen.  Hazardous Matt  15:15, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Is this Championship ECW exclusive now that Finlay and Hornswoggle have been drafted to that brand?--WinOne4TheGipper (talk) 16:36, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

If they win it, yes. But right now it is still an exclusive to SmackDown. –LAX 16:42, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
The current champions are on ECW. Yet the title is still a SD! title. Why would a title change to wto other ECW guys make it exclusive to said show? Gavyn Sykes (talk) 18:07, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Good point, one that I also thought about. The title is still SmackDown's regardless of the result of the title match on Sunday, if the deal between the two brands is still in effect. TonyFreakinAlmeida (talk) 18:57, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Then why is the United States title supposedly ECW exclusive, just because Matt Hardy was drafted there. The WWE just doesn't make sense with the brand extension. Virakhvar321 (talk) 22:58, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Incorrect subtext - IC Title Match

The subtext for intercontinental championship match is incorrect and has no confirmed sources nor has anything regarding that on WWE.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.29.92.30 (talk) 14:52, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

There was still a source, and it was not to be removed. -- iMatthew T.C. 15:17, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I am an amateur but I must agree with the unsigned comment. At the very lest the text "Jericho was originally scheduled to face Shawn Michaels, but Michaels was injured by Jericho a few weeks before the event. It is unknown whether an Intercontinental Championship match will take place." qualifies as original research. The footnote does not link to any verifiable published source. I would remove that line but I do not know how. --CooliLowe (talk) 22:58, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Where is the source that says Jericho was to fight HBK? They never once mentioned having a IC title match againt each other on TV. Nor did anyone else in the WWE on TV or did WWE.com say anything. Also Jericho never mentioned the IC title until Raw last week. Also WWE has said many times that all titles will be defended. So on that reason it should stay. If it doesn't happen at NOC then so be it. They said it would be defended. We placed it in there.--WillC 23:16, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Well I think since the match is NOT listed on WWE.com it should be removed as obviously it will not be defended tonight. TrekFanatic (talk) 23:31, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

How do you know it won't? I think we all know it will. Come On, it can't be called Night of Champions if it isn't defended.--WillC 00:50, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

I offer no opinion as to whether the event will or will not happen. Nor do I offer an opinion as to whether that should be deleted. Further, this will soon become academic because in a few hours the match will either happen or not. I simply indicate that the langague indicating that Jericho was originally scheduled to take on Michaels is not properly sourced and should be removed. --CooliLowe (talk) 01:04, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

If you look at the article you will see that Jericho did defend the IC title at NOC.--WillC 01:44, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Change the format of matches back to how it was this chart is stupid —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.59.252.197 (talk) 01:42, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

What is wrong with it? -- iMatthew T.C. 01:46, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Consensus at WP:PW was to change it tables. Bring it up at the talk page of the project if you have a problem with it. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 01:47, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Just put the way that they won the match instead of this annoying chart —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.62.68.110 (talk) 19:15, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Again, you'll need to go to the PW talk page to try to change consensus.  Hazardous Matt  19:21, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Finishes

Why have none of the finishes been added, and why did a previous editor's adding of the finishes get reverted? TheHeartbreakKid15 (talk) 14:45, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I would like to know this as well. How come for this PPV there have been no finishers added? —Preceding unsigned comment added by GuffasBorgz7 (talkcontribs) 23:24, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
If you are referring to the results table, it was a consensus made at WP:PW. -- iMatthew T.C. 23:39, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

ECW on the Cruserweight Title

Did anyone else notice that near the titantron where the belts were on the big red columns that one of the belts was the Cruiserweight Title except that on it was ECW in red? What's up with that? And also, shouldn't this be put somewhere in the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.39.255.105 (talk) 21:36, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't think it's really notable at this point. It might have just been an oversight. Even if there was information stating the title was to be revived, they didn't do anything with it at NoC.  Hazardous Matt  21:42, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
I didn't say it was being revived, just that it was the Cruiserweight title design except on it was ECW in red. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.39.255.105 (talk) 21:47, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
It's not really that notable to be included.  Hazardous Matt  21:52, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Not even in like a Trivia section or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.39.255.105 (talk) 21:56, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Whats with the chart?

Whats the deal? cant we leave it the old way?—Preceding unsigned comment added by CTUnick —Preceding unsigned comment added by CTUnick (talkcontribs) 20:25, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

If you mean the table in the "Results" section, it is the new format. All other PPV articles will converted to this format too. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 20:27, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
I like the chart, but it just says "defeated" now instead of listing how, like by pinfall or countout or whatnot. Sure for some it doesn't matter (ladder matches, etc) but still, why remove the specifics that were listed previously? For that matter I noticed over on Backlash it shows "Triple H defeated Cena, Orton and JBL" however with an elimiation match that has Cena eliminate JBL, then Orton eliminate Cena, yet that's not in the infoboxchart deal. Yeah, I know its in the article itself, but still, why make a chart that limited when more data can be in there?  :) CyclopsScott (talk) 01:16, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Because it looks crowded and messy. And to make a point, it will should say by "countout" or "disqualification", if that's how the match is won. It won't say by pinfall, because that's how most matches or won, and that's what you would expect. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 03:35, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
I would rather have "crowded and messy" over lack of specific information. The charts make it difficult to understand what actually happend. It's been over a month and I still don't know how Edge retaind his championship. L0W3R1D3R | TH3 L0W3D0WN 20:10, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
I agree. But we at WP:PW want Featured Articles. And a FAC reviewer described the old format as as "a messy list" and "unprofessional." I think the old format was better, but oh well. Personally, I think the table looks "crowded and messy" not the old format. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 00:50, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

2nd night of champions

the wwe homepage separates the articles of vengeance and night of champions... why here still are the same article and are considered the same ppv? and taboo tuesday does not appear as a separate article from cyber sunday on the wwe homepage, so don't say that the case of vengeance is the same of taboo tuesday —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.35.138.65 (talk) 09:58, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

For the most part, it's the way the PPV was branded. It began as Vengeance, then became Vengeance: Night of Champions, and now Night of Champions.  Hazardous Matt  13:23, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
WWE just lists them that way for storyline and history purposes, but Vengeance and NOC are the same pay-per-view, NOC is just the new branded PPV that took Vengeance's place, but carries the same lineage. Similar to Taboo Tuesday and Cyber Sunday.--SRX 13:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

But Taboo Tuesday does not appear on the OFFICIAL wwe homepage, but ppv like New Years revolution or december to dismember appear there, so don't say to me that vengeance and night of champions are the same PPV because the WWE considers them as two separate ppv. Is like saying that NY Revolution and December to Dismember are the same vecause they had the tradition of having an Elimination Chamber as the Main Event —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.35.138.65 (talk) 01:51, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
