I have seen both of these on Google Books. I note that 中國通史 uses the former: 九品官人法的創立與魏晉士族政權九品官人法的創立東漢末葉,士庶流離轉徙,脫離鄉里,士人的出身爵里、道德才能均難以稽考,鄉舉里選無法舉行:而且,選舉之權操於州郡,流於權門請託,察舉制度自然無法選拔到真正的人才. Tooironic (talk) 00:27, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Confusion between Nine-rank system for Officials, and the Nine-rank Controller System[edit]
I think we have a serious issue here - this article confuses the Nine-rank controller system (九品中正制), which was used to evaluate recruits into officialdom, and the Nine-rank official system (品秩), which was used to categorise and rank existing officials. Given the content of this page here, I take it that this page refers to the controller system?
