Cast table[edit]

What is the purpose of the table in the Cast section? It repeats the same information already given in the characters list - the voice actors. The only major character that has been affected by a voice actor change is Lloyd at the end of Season 7. The only other information provided by this table is relating to the seasons in which each character appeared. This is also covered in the character list. I propose removing the cast table and renaming the Character section as Cast and characters. Fieryninja (talk) 19:35, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will implement the removal of this table due to no further comments on this. Fieryninja (talk) 08:48, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The curious case of Ninjago season numbers[edit]

Lego has recently caused some confusion regarding the Ninjago season numbers post-Masters of Spinjitzu. Several promotional videos on the official YouTube channel have referred to Prime Empire and Master of the Mountain as "Season 2"[1] and the recently released season The Island as "Season 3"[2]. This makes a clear distinction between Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and Ninjago as separate productions. A recent discussion on List of Ninjago episodes made an agreement to update the season numbering to reflect this official change in reference to the season numbers. The discussion proposes to list the seasons as follows:

  • Heading: Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu
  • Subheading: Season 1,2,3 etc
  • Heading: Ninjago
  • Subheading: Season 1
  • SotFS Fire Chapter
  • SotFS Ice Chapter
  • Subheading: Season 2
  • Prime Empire
  • Master of the Mountain
  • Subheading: Season 3
  • The Island
  • Seabound (presumably) - add this when released.

The changes will be implemented on both this page and on List of Ninjago episodes.

Several days have passed since I left this note, so without any further comments I suppose it is time to implement it. Fieryninja (talk) 11:09, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How about changing the headers to say WilFilm episodes and WildBrain episodes instead of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and Ninjago? It would be similar to how the sections on List of DreamWorks Dragons episodes are called Cartoon Network episodes and Netflix episodes?79.100.210.106 (talk) 16:48, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this seems unnecessary. The two productions each have a distinctive title which corresponds with the titles used by Lego. If we add more info to this it will just confuse readers even more. The lead paragraph explains how the two different animation studios have been involved. Plus the changes have already been implemented. Thanks for your input. Fieryninja (talk) 17:00, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can we change the season count to say 14 and not 13 again? The writers have confirmed that Prime Empire and Master of the Mountain are two separate seasons and were just sold as one season to distributors.https://twitter.com/TommyAndreasen/status/1275005795973959681 79.100.210.106 (talk) 09:51, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. Thanks for your input. I totally agree that the situation is confusing, what with Lego referring to The Island as Season 3 (officially) and others referring to it as Season 14 etc. So yes to a certain extent 14 current seasons still stand. The only problem is that if we go with the official line which states there are now 3 new seasons post Masters of Spinjitzu that means officially there are 13 seasons. I will leave it as is for now because I can see it being a constant cause of confusion. However, I do think the new structure in the body text is still the correct approach because it follows the titling of official promotional material. Perhaps we will get more clarity in the future. Fieryninja (talk) 10:07, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I am fine with leaving the headings in the body text as they are, I was only talking about the season count in the infobox. And, yes, I know that officially they are both Season 2, my point was that they were created as separate seasons and are considered to be separate by the writers, which is why I felt the season count in the infobox should say 14, not 13. Thanks for seeing my point of view.79.100.210.106 (talk) 12:04, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! I think your suggestion makes sense. Thanks for helping us sort out this tricky problem :) Fieryninja (talk) 12:10, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Seasons[edit]

The plot summaries look way too long and I think there should be separate articles for each season. Any thoughts?--Limorina (tc) 09:27, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Limorina yes the plot summaries are currently around 500 words. However the separate article List of Ninjago episodes also covers all the episodes, so really they need to be reduced in length to about 100 words. Considering that this could go on for a further ten years, it is a good time to edit this down. I'm happy to do this. Fieryninja (talk) 09:31, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alternatively, is it normal practice to separate the seasons out into separate articles? Do you think this is the best approach? Fieryninja (talk) 09:41, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fieryninja, there are lots of articles about televsion seasons, even television episodes. Some examples would be (I don't watch these); Johnny Test (season 6), Game of Thrones (season 1) and The Big Bang Theory (season 4). You can use the season titles (e.g. Seabound, Skybound, Masters of the Mountain) if you'd like (e.g. Total Drama Island). Limorina (tc) 15:11, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Limorina Thanks for this information. To be honest I was thinking how difficult it is to summarise a 30 episode season in 100 words, so perhaps it would be best to split these off. I will have a look at the examples and if you agree perhaps I can create them as individual articles. Thanks Fieryninja (talk) 15:14, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Limorina Further to this, an editor recently created a page about the first and second season - see these pages - Talk:Ninjago (season 1) and Talk:Ninjago (season 2). However, I redirected them as they seemed to be just a duplicate of List of Ninjago episodes. Now that you have suggested that these could be split off, do you think we could remove the redirect and use these pages for this purpose? Thanks for your advice. Fieryninja (talk) 15:45, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Limorina sorry I've been giving this more thought and I'm starting to think that the season title would be a better approach. We have had an ongoing issue with the season numbers (you can see the thread above) so season titles might be a better option. Fieryninja (talk) 16:38, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fieryninja, the separate season articles that were created by the other user seemed okay but I'd say it would be a stub. You can do that if you'd like for now (copy-paste text from List of Ninjago episodes) and then expand it later on. It's up to you to decide if there should be the season titles for each article (which I'd prefer). Thanks. Limorina (tc) 17:20, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Limorina I agree with you on the season titles. It will avoid any issues with season numbers and also the change in the production title after season 10. This will make things a lot simpler. I will prepare to create new pages based on each season title. Thanks for your good advice. Fieryninja (talk) 17:23, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Limorina I plan to add some very short synopses to this page as has been done at Breaking Bad in place of the split plot summaries. Fieryninja (talk) 21:46, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fieryninja, I totally agree with you! --Limorina (tc) 13:44, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fieryninja, on second thoughts, why not summarise all the plots in one or two paragraphs and merge it into the "Overview" section. Then rename the "Synopsis" section to "Seasons" and then list all the seasons. Do this after you've done all the articles for consistency. Limorina (tc) 13:23, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Limorina I see what you are saying, so remove the short summaries and list the seasons in a table format? We could bring the existing table higher up (the current table under Episodes heading) and use that to link to each season page, although it would have to be reworked because at the moment it draws in the content from List of Ninjago episodes. I have looked at a few other series and they have done this in table format on the main page. With 15 plus seasons the short summaries could get quite long in future so it's a good suggestion. I can expand the overview section with the summary text as you say. If you agree with this then I will work on it after publishing all the individual season pages. Fieryninja (talk) 15:42, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fieryninja, I don't know why but I didn't get pinged so sorry for the late reply. About what I said, you interpreted me correctly but I think that the overview section is fine for the plot so we don't need to expand that. On the season articles, it's pretty useless having the season plot then separate episode plots so I'd say move the separate season plots into List of Ninjago episodes while removing the episode summaries on that article (List of Ninjago episodes). And the rest you said, I totally agree with. I also think it's time for a Template:Ninjago (TV series) due to there being several articles on the subject. Limorina (tc) 07:32, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Limorina thanks for all your input on this. I just want to clarify a few things. Firstly, are you happy with the synopsis section now as it is? It is still pretty long and will continue to grow if this continues. Do you think we should replace it with the table from the episodes heading and link to the season pages from there? Secondly, I totally agree with you about the need for a Ninjago template. Do you know how to create one? I have never done this so please advise. Thirdly, I'm not sure about removing the plot summaries from the season pages, mainly because List of Ninjago episodes is just going to get longer. We could just keep the episode summaries in List of Ninjago episodes as they are fairly short. Thanks Fieryninja (talk) 08:09, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fieryninja,

  1. I find the synopsis section a bit too long, I think it should be removed and the overview section be renamed to synopsis.
  2. If you want, I'll create it, but I'm currently a bit busy but I will do it soon.
  3. Then just remove the plots because there is no use repeating them in the episodes section.

Hope this clarifies everything.--Limorina (tc) 08:15, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Limorina Thanks I will take the episode summaries out then and we can leave them in List of Ninjago episodes. If the template is easy to do I can have a go myself if you can point me to the "How To page". :) Thanks! Fieryninja (talk) 08:29, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fieryninja, WP:NAV and Template:Navbox may help. Limorina (tc) 09:44, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regularly, It's the show's name then (season x). The fifteenth season of the Danish-Canadian animated series Ninjago (titled The Island) aired on Cartoon Network from April 4 to May 23, 2021. Why not use that? It's simple ChannelSpider (talk) 19:58, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello ChannelSpider can you just clarify what you are referring to? I'm not entirely clear. Are you talking about season page titles? Fieryninja (talk) 20:05, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Season titles. ChannelSpider (talk) 20:06, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ChannelSpider this work has already been completed. The seasons have already been split out. Fieryninja (talk) 20:09, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm speaking about the season renaming (Seabound (Ninjago season) to Ninjago (season 14/15)). It's simpler. ChannelSpider (talk) 20:21, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ChannelSpider this has already been discussed above. There was a good reason for not using season numbers and that is due to some recent confusion in the inconsistent way that The Lego Group has referred to the seasons. Even Tommy Andreasen has stated he doesn't use the season numbers anymore. For this reason the decision has been to use season titles. This is particularly important due to even more confusion created by Bragi Schut in the past few days over the season number for Seabound. Fieryninja (talk) 20:27, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, Thanks. ChannelSpider (talk) 20:28, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Elements in Ninjago[edit]
