Guarding the Lion[edit]

With all due respect to the ROTC and the Lion Ambassadors, other members of the Penn State community participate in guarding the lion. Rob 02:04, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

lions eliminated?[edit]

I grew up in a rural part of State College and while I'm not 100% sure I'm confidant I've heard a mountain lion. I now live in northern Delaware and have definitely seen tracks in the White Clay Creek preserve near the De/Md/Pa corner so its a good possibility they've returned to central Pa. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.21.196.64 (talk) 07:01, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I hope so! Can you find any official documentation? While I completely trust you, Wikipedia is more stringent. But as a Penn State Alum, I would love to hear that the lions have returned. 02:30, 3 January 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grumpy otter (talkcontribs)

See Eastern cougar for background. It's not clear if the eastern population was a separate subspecies or not, but either way, they're probably all dead (except in Florida). That doesn't mean that you didn't meet a mountain lion, but it means that it was probably an individual wanderer from the west. ―Toby Bartels (talk) 20:19, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of The Nittany Lion (song) into Nittany Lion[edit]

Pages are closely related topics and relatively short. Combining may better cover them without duplicating content. Ost (talk) 20:54, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Keep Notable song for a leading national football program. Pennsylvania2 (talk) 20:21, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
