"No nit policy is a treatment system recommended by health authorities in the USA..."[edit]

It is simply not true that no-nit policies are recommended by health authorities in the USA. The American Academy of Pediatrics, the CDC, and the National Association of School Nurses all explicitly reject no-nit policies.

The only organization I've been able to find that supports no-nit policies is the so-called National Pediculosis Association, which coincidentally enough has a vested financial interest in such a policy, since it sells a comb designed to remove nits from hair.

I don't know if health authorities in the other listed countries recommend no-nit policies, so I don't know if the rest of this opening sentence is correct, but it's certainly incorrect about the USA.

I am not experienced enough at editing Wikipedia pages to feel comfortable changing the text of the main page, but I hope someone with more experience than I will correct this misstatement of fact. Jikamens (talk) 14:07, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
