Article title[edit]

Sangkhlaburi is an example of the problems posed by Wikipedia's convention of trying to follow official place names. In most cases it's fine when the subdistrict (tambon) and the locality are mostly the same thing and share the name. But here, Nong Lu is only the name of the subdistrict, while the municipality is called Wangka, and practically, everybody refers to the town as Sangkhlaburi, after the district. Since it's not the name of the locality, the usual name for the article should probably be Nong Lu subdistrict, but I'm thinking that some form of Sangkhlaburi (town) would actually be the most reader-friendly, even if it's not the actual name. --Paul_012 (talk) 04:43, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Paul 012: Renaming it after the town is fine. The difficult part is that the town and the village are tied together. Tourists stay in a hotel in Sangkhlaburi and walk to Ban Wangka. There is the point of one word or two words. KittenKlub (talk) 08:18, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is a list of villages in the archived hnongloo.org page. The other tambons usually list them. I did not add them, because the translator messes up the English names.KittenKlub (talk) 08:27, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Upon further thought this seems fine as is. I've added mention of the entities to the lead and redirected the terms here. --Paul_012 (talk) 12:16, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
