The magical expanse over Noordoewer at night[edit]

The mid sixties at Noordoewer (Namibia)...

The stars, the sounds of the night - as our family slept outside on our pulled out mattresses, was incredibly magic and absolutely indescribable. It was so awesome!

The expanse was absolutely brilliant, those trillions upon trillions of sparkling stars...

As I lifted up my feet and arms - it felt as if my toes and fingers touched some of those "zuoing" jewels. They stretched so low down upon us. To me the stars made buzzing sounds, and its sparkles pierced right into my soul.

My dad pointed in different directions under this dome, and taught us the names of some stars. We would pinch our eyes tightly shut as we make wishes under shooting stars and scream out joyfully as we discovered travelling sattelites.

Further down below our house (on its own single koppie) was the wide glistening Orange River, and beyond that, the silhoette of the dark mountains. Cinnamonlemon (talk) 23:45, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
