I agree with the quoted analyst that any hacking that occurred isn't a key cause of Nortel's ultimate demise (and the cited computer professor was just offering his own personal speculation; he doesn't have any business analysis credentials to lend credence to his thoughts). Nortel's handling of its balance sheet is a fully reasonable explanation behind its problems; by Occam's Razor, there's no need to look for more fanciful explanations. (This is not to say that any network intrusion was not a significant security issue for Nortel products and its customers.) isaacl (talk) 14:56, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
