Move (rename)[edit]

I am going to move Notion (accessory) to Notions (sewing). The word is always used in the plural in the sense of small items or sundries used in sewing (see Merriam-Webster entry). - PKM (talk) 02:05, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

umbrella term[edit]

A "collective term" is just a collective noun, and has nothing to do with an umbrella term. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.193.234.239 (talk) 05:06, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: not moved. – robertsky (talk) 16:44, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notions (sewing)Notions – Primary sense of word Notions. Please note that:

  • there is no need for the current redirect of Notions to the Notion (disambiguation) page as if searched in the plural there are only two meanings, either the primary one (sewing notions) or the very specific item about Winchester College.
  • the specific sense (Notions (Winchester College) has 1/3 the views of the article about the primary sense (sewing notions)
  • I have already added an About template to the Notions (sewing) article to accommodate the requested move.
