Note that this user is a suspected sockpuppet of Matthvm, an indefinitely blocked user. The fact is that highway 102 does end at Bayers Road according to every document I have ever seen produced by the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and other government agencies. This map for instance, has 100-series highways highlighted in orange, and 102 is clearly shown as ending at the edge of the Halifax peninsula. There are 102 signs leading into and out of downtown, but those streets are maintained by the Halifax Regional Municipality as local streets, and are not officially part of the route. First and foremost I am NOT matthvm nor jwalker2006 nor paylucy nor 20060715 nor anyone else .Second this discussion is about Highway 102 not your prejudice of who I may be that I am not . If I had the time I can prove that your a sockpuppet . Dicission pages not the place for this nor is Wikipedia as a whole for this if you want to tell Frank .

These street are maintained by the Halifax Regional Municipality as provincial roadway and the province of Nova Scotia pays HRM 100% for such maintenance as in other towns and Municipalities in Nova Scotia as such they marked as nunerical routes for suck purposes .Also they are used for truck traffic and for arterial route to compensate for the lack of areas to build expressways the same situation happens in Vancouver Look at Talk:Nova Scotia Highway 111 --1190557 19:48, 4 August 2006 (UTC) The information I use is from the Dept. of Transportation of the Government of Nova Scotia who has the authority to determine where the routes are now if they say that the street in questions are part of Highway 102 or 111 or whatever it is really the true part of the route if they have the sign posted on that route . Route on city streets[edit]

I'm trying to find confirmation of the route on city streets. [1] confirms that they are truck routes. I will continue to search. --NE2 08:34, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Connaught Avenue recently became a daytime-only truck route; the full-time route is via Bayers Road and Young Street, which now run into each other at Windsor Street. Then trucks would turn down Robie Street to reach Bell Road etc. --NE2 10:52, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I emailed the DOT and the HRM. The DOT replied today; some highlights from the email are:

"Although the Department does not maintain a list of roads under municipal jurisdiction I am able to provide you with a list of provincial highways within the HRM core that are maintained by our Department." (The only roads in the list are 101, 102, 103, 107, 111, and 118 - no termini given - and Trunk 7 between "Dartmouth City Line" and the Bedford Bypass.)
"The only situation I am aware of where a municipal street would receive maintenance funding from the province would be if there was some sort of cost-share agreement. To the best of my knowledge there are no cost-shared streets within HRM."

I will remove the incorrect statement about funding from the article. It appears that, unless HRM defines the routes, every non-100-series highway except Trunk 7 now ends at the HRM core boundary, since "the Department does not maintain a list of roads under municipal jurisdiction". --NE2 21:36, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to the HRM:

"The few streets within the urban core which have provincially designated route markers on them coincide with provincial roadway tourist maps to guide people to and through urban areas."

So as far as anyone official is concerned, the only routings are those marked on the maps. Does anyone have a recent tourist map? --NE2 22:29, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
