4000-5000 BC or at least 170AD: that's one hell of a range[edit]

Worse, the refs actually say ca. 3000 BC to ca. AD 1600; the earlier date is dubious and the latter date relies on synthesis. — kwami (talk) 12:44, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
