"who encounters a Cthulu named Nyarlathotep" unless this is how it is stated in the series, this information is just wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.67.99.132 (talk) 05:22, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos[edit]

The official english title of this anime is Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos. Link — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.144.114.58 (talk) 15:39, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • THis is article about franchise, also covering light novel and previous flash anime.L-Zwei (talk) 03:36, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Official english translation is using this title for the tire series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.144.116.85 (talk) 20:36, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
      • If you take a look at the Crunchyroll page cited above, you'll see that while they are all listed under the "Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos" page, only the new animated series goes by that name. The previous flash series are still listed under their respective names. I agree with L-Zwei that this page covers the entire franchise, not just the most recent animated series, so I disagree with the move. I would suggest, however, that "Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos" be setup as a redirect to this "Haiyore! Nyaruko-san" page instead. Tasunke (talk) 01:37, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
        • I went ahead and did that, and removed the request. TJFadness (talk) 07:39, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why?[edit]

I'm not going to winge on about the current state of the japanese animation industry or anything like that, but I just want to know, why? Why does this series depict Nyarlothotep, a horrifying being that only barely looks mildly humanoid whom occasionally takes on human form to enact his unknowable will through malevolent manipulation, as a teenage(?) japanese "kawaii" schoolgirl? This seems to be a fairly modern trend in Anime. 157.157.153.54 (talk) 22:32, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Why not? After many Cthulhu-like monsters (like that badguy from Ben Ten and Old Gods from WoW) most have nothing to do with unfathom wrongness of Lovecraft's vision (Sure, they're dangerous, they're evil. But all of them have their asses kicked.). All of Lovecraftian deities were reduced to simple "cool, powerful monsters" long before this series come to existence. Plus, this is parody. • Um. I should think that taking the form of a Japanese "kawaii" schoolgirl would be a great way for him to enact his will through malevolent manipulation! (^_^) Double sharp (talk) 06:46, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Things I plan to do[edit]

  • 1. The character list should not be named after the characters in Lovecraft rather they need to be the names of the characters in the anime. So Nyarlathotep would be switched with Nyaruko, Cthugha with Kūko, ect... I plan on mentioning the lovecraft connections in the character descriptions, and have both books (primary sources) that came with the DVDs.
  • 2. The character list may need to be split off into a separate article. Yes I am aware of the size of this article but aside from the main characters, the others are just taking up huge swaths of the article. We need to focus more on out of universe info, but still retain a characters list.
  • 3. The Music section should be placed into WP:PROSE. I will look to see if I can find anything that can be expanded upon there as well.
  • 4. The Reception section needs expanding. The good news here is that there are reviews out there that cover this series, they just need to be added.
  • 5. The lead section needs expansion and improvement.
