Untitled[edit]

The content of this article, particularly its assertions about the characteristics, origins, and etymology of this supposedly cohesive group of people, the Oberois, is not supported by any scholarly references. It is more juvenile puffery than educational background. Uberoi 16:52, 14 June 2007 (UTC) Vibhu Sing —the unsigned comment added by 207.46.55.31 (talk) 12:36, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pathetic[edit]

This is wikipedia. Not a blog. Rather not have an article on Oberois at all. Pity i am not very knowledgeable on the origins of the "clan" else i would have taken over tis article. When did Oberois get to be patriotic and highly decorated/honored whatecver. Name one decorator armyman named Oberoi. Name one freedom fighter named Oberoi. Patriotic is such a subjective word. Any estimation on the number of Oberoi families? i read in the "indian caste system" article that Khatris is supposed to be the original Kshatriya clan or sect. I guess Oberois started off as a warrior clan and then turned into vaishyas or trader class. This i'm talking about varnas and not castes. When did the clan really originate. When was it first documented or mentioned in writing? How did Oberois get that name? Who played what important role in forming the Khalsa. And what is this bullshit - Jagdeep Uberoi, Legend. Who wrote this f***king crap??!!?? And Anahita Uberoi, Actress is missing from the lift. She has acted in New York theatre and in some Hindi films like Jism. No, she wasnt the body double! she played Gulshan Grover drunkard sister. Varun Oberoi 63.216.63.52 (talk) 14:59, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[edit]

That is not an etymology. Put the section back if you have an actual etymology. I am deleting it. 199.168.151.40 (talk) 19:39, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
