Box of geological time scales[edit]

First of all, thanks to the ever-imposing geologists for finally clarifying their convoluted chronologies here. For archaeological articles, however, they have to be scaled into our common chronology to be of any use at all, which is questionable anyway. ...HJJHolm (talk) 06:43, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Since the name-giving location is Odino, the non-Russian name of the culture has to be Odino. The "v" stems from an unprofessional translation of the (typical) Russian adjective. Correct citation from Molodin (2014) "Наличие стратиграфических подтверждений прежней схемы (Усть-Тартас – Одино – Кротово) [Молодин и др., 2011]". HJJHolm (talk) 09:52, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There seem to be two different cultures with the same name already in the Russian literature, here from Molodin (2014): "В целом, синхронные позиции, которые демонстрируют памятники одиновской и кротовской культур, по-видимому, подтверждают сосуществование их носителей в пределах III тыс. до н. э. на территории лесостепного Обь-Иртышья." New chronology[edit]

I changed the chronology according to a newer source (Molodin et al. 2014).HJJHolm (talk) 14:13, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Location nonsense, now updated[edit]

according to the map in the russian wikipedia, the Odin(ovskaya) culture is far more in the east, south of Novosibirsk. Molodin does not lokate it at the Ishim river!HJJHolm (talk) 07:42, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
