Main differences between K18 and Olaplex:

  • K18 restores keratin chains, and Olaplex restores disulfide bonds in the hair, in the very structure of the hair.

Keratin chains are the structural component of hair (think vertical legs/sides of a ladder) and disulfide bonds (think horizontal rungs of a ladder) are the chemical bonds that hold the keratin chains together. Instead of providing a temporary repair and restoring one type of bond, as Olaplex does with disulfide bonds, K18 mimics the molecular makeup of keratin chains along the length and width of your hair fiber to improve strength and elasticity.

The most important ingredient of K18 is K18 PEPTIDE (sh-Oligopeptide-78), and Olaplex's key ingredient is Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate.

Olaplex is a pre-shampoo treatment and K18 is a post-shampoo treatment.

K18 needs at least 4 minutes to run. Olaplex NO3 needs at least 10 minutes to work on the hair.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.180.62.194 (talk) 13:36, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Info box[edit]

Should the infobox be a brand info box instead of a product infobox since Olaplex is a company not just one product? Manetamer (talk) 01:03, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
