"Old City Hall"[edit]

Since Guelph has a new city hall, and the former city hall building is now used as a court house, the article that had traditionally been at Guelph City Hall (about the historic building) needed to be moved. User:Guelphtourism undertook an cut-and-paste move, which has been reverted. I moved the article to "Old City Hall", rather than some variance of the courthouse name, as a Google search suggested that Old City Hall was perhaps the most common name for the building (even by official sources like the municipality and the feds). I also note that the NHSC still seems to be called the "Guelph City Hall National Historic Site of Canada", which suggests to me that the "Old City Hall" is the best bet for now.

There are sources that refer to it by a courthouse-related name, but there appears to be some confusion whether it is "Guelph Provincial Offences Court House", "Guelph Provincial Court House" or "Guelph Courthouse" (the first one appears to be correct, but the other two names seem quite common too).

Please leave a note if anyone thinks differently. I suppose time will tell, and we may want to revisit this once common usage becomes more clear.--Skeezix1000 (talk) 19:08, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
