Untitled[edit]

The reality is that Old Mutual is no longer a South African company (though they won't want South African consumers to become aware of that). To quote from the official site:

"Old Mutual plc is London based with operations spanning life assurance, asset management, banking and general insurance. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange as well as the Johannesburg (South Africa), Namibian, Malawi and Zimbabwe stock exchanges." [1]

London is the only headquarters mentioned on the company's home page and the London addresses take priority on all the contact lists. The London Stock Exchange listing is the main listing. The accounts are presented in Pounds with conversion into Rands, not the other way round.

Response to Carina22: Quite right - although I do not believe that they are trying to conceal this fact from anybody. It is as plain as day that they now quite multinational with aspirations to further this even more. There are several benefits taht accrue to South Africa with the diversification of Old Mutual. South African consumers get access to a more diverse product manufacturer. South African shareholders get to own a share that is more in demand, therefore driving its value up.

Using London as a primary listing and main physical address should be expected. As it was one of the oldest insuranse company, as I heard about it, Is it providing the insurance services now-a-days ?
