About Trivia[edit]

Information, that Hitler likes May's books (as well as Einstein or Hesse likes them) is contained in the main article about Carl May. In this context it is irrelevant.

I was thinking there should be a little more detail about the series - books' names, release date, plot summaries, etc'

Where it was made[edit]

The movie was made in Yugoslavia(at that time),but exactly in Ulcinj(now Montenegro)(village Klezna),and also Plitvice-Plitvicka Jezera(now Croatia),a place near Gospic.

Reference to Xantus removed[edit]

OS and Hitler[edit]

I have removed the part "They also influenced a young Adolf Hitler.^[1].", because

If there is need for more material on influence, then the section "Characterisation" is not a convenient place. A new section should be entered.
This article is about though a main, but single character. Tales influencing Hitler go beyond those concerning OS. Thus this article is not a convenient place.
May's works influenced many people of several generations starting from 1880s until today and the kind of influence differs significantly between these people. Picking out Hitler as single example is not representative and, thus, leads to a biased picture.
The whole topic of the influence of May's works on Hitler is much too complex to be dealt with in a single sentence. This sentence does not even mention the kinds of influence, thus further generating a biased picture. Günter Scholdt, who's paper on this topic (in German) I can recommend, stated May's influence on Hitler was not even large enough. Hitler was mainly influenced by the German superheroism in May's tales, but he totally ignored his ethics, e.g. humanity, Christian love, international understandig, pacifism. (This ignorance is also true for those, who claimed May being responsible for Hitler's deeds, e.g. Klaus Mann.)
